The boy hero
THE STORY
The Boy Hero follows the story of an elderly man named Frank. Frank, who is isolated and withdrawn, is a live-in patient undergoing treatments in a hospital cancer ward. His lonely existence is completely interrupted when 8-year-old Max is admitted for treatment. The unlikely pair forge a bond over an art project that brings enrichment to both their lives
THE MISSION
Each year in the U.S. there are an estimated 15,780 children between the ages of birth and 19 years of age who are diagnosed with cancer. Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday.
While childhood cancer is consistently underfunded at the government level, raising awareness will lead to more support. Ultimately leading to more cures. There are children alive today that would not be because of our supporters' dedication to finding cures for all children. We truly believe that film is the most engaging way to convey a message and raise awareness.

Filmmaker, Kyle Thompson talks about how this story came to life.
Kyle B. Thompson
Filmmaker, Kyle Thompson split his childhood between Philadelphia and Ocean City, New Jersey which meant he was exposed to both small town America and big city America. This allowed Kyle to really work through what he wanted to do when he grew up. Kyle talks about his childhood and how his supportive parents allowed him to pursue his filmmaking dream.
